Search in several places at once: 1688 and Alibaba, the Canton Fair, and the wholesale markets in Yiwu, Guangzhou and Foshan. Shortlist 5–10 candidates, send each of them the same brief and compare the answers on price, lead time and minimum order quantity. Before paying a deposit, check the business license, ask for a live video of the production floor and order a sample. Technically yes, but in practice it is hard. 1688 is built for buyers inside China: the interface and seller chats are in Chinese, payment goes through Alipay or WeChat Pay, and sellers ship only within China. So you need a Chinese address and a way to pay in yuan. Most buyers from Kazakhstan and the CIS work through a sourcing agent who buys the goods, receives them at a warehouse in China, checks them and ships them to you. 1688 is a wholesale platform for China's domestic market: Chinese only, prices in yuan, small minimum orders and payment through Chinese services. Alibaba.com is the same group's international platform: English, prices in dollars, higher MOQs, but familiar payment methods and export documents. Taobao is retail: no minimum order, but retail prices. For marketplace sourcing 1688 is the main choice, Alibaba suits a first import or OEM runs, and Taobao is for samples. Payment, communication and shipping from any of them can be delegated to ChinaGoGlobal.

Order a pre-shipment inspection once the batch is finished and packed: an inspector visits the factory, pulls a sample according to AQL, compares the goods with the approved sample and specification, checks packaging and labeling, and sends a photo and video report. Don't pay the supplier the balance until you have approved the report — that way defects can be fixed before the goods leave. There are three main options: a bank transfer in CNY or USD to the supplier's company account, payment through Alipay or WeChat Pay, and payment through a sourcing agent. For samples and small wholesale on Taobao and 1688, Alipay is usually the most convenient; for factories it's a transfer against a proforma invoice, normally a deposit plus the balance before shipment.
